British Museum appoints benugo as new caterers

Following a competitive tender process, benugo have been appointed as the exclusive provider for catering services at the British Museum. The 5-year contract is due to commence in May 2012

An integral part of the contract is an overhaul of the existing foodservice facilities. Throughout the first year, refurbishments will be carried out on a rolling basis and will include a complete renovation of the Great Court Cafés and Great Court Restaurant which will become a fast paced casual dining destination. benugo are also planning a number of new locations within the Museum including a new deli lunch style café and espresso bar.

Steven Cova, director of hospitality at the British Museum said 'The British Museum is the leading visitor attraction in the UK with around 6 million visitors a year. The Museum is keen to ensure that we provide a wide-ranging foodservice offer to visitors at a high standard. In benugo we believe we have found a partner who provide this service, can help us to upgrade our offer and grow our business.'
