London Coffee Festival
29 April 2015
The London Coffee Festival kick-started UK Coffee Week this year at The Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane.
Benugo really love to see coffee lovers getting together to show off their great brews and coffee-related products. And this year, nearly 24,000 fans of the black stuff and industry members attended the event, from April 30th to May 3rd.
We wanted to do something special this year and so, ‘The B-Pi’ was born, a coffee injected miniature banoffee pie (yes, as good as it sounds!).
We gave out over 450 B-Pis in 2 hours (we ran out!) and in return collected £250 in donations for Project Waterfall. The project is an Allegra Foundation initiative that brings clean water and sanitation to communities in Tanzania and Rwanda.
‘The B-Pis’, complete with coffee filled syringes, were greeted with some trepidation at first - but they went down an absolute treat. What’s not to like about a sweet treat injected with a coffee shot?
UK Coffee Week at Benugo continued in full throttle. We donated 5p for every cup sold across the business (restaurants, high street, museums and public spaces) to Project Waterfall. We also created another limited addition treat - cappuccino cupcakes baked on our on-site bakery at Great Portland Street. We donated 25p for every cupcake sold. The UK Coffee Week team were a great support and paid a visit to us on a double decker bus! #SpreadtheSmile
All told, we raised £5970 for Project Waterfall! It was a fantastic week and we loved being part of one of the greatest assets of the city’s coffee community.
