A festival of art, creativity & discovery
28 August 2015
FREE PUBLIC ART PROGRAMME
Art Social returns this September for its second year, presented by our friends, The House of St Barnabas.
The festival will open its doors at 1 Greek Street from Monday 21st – Sunday 27th September and will feature an installation in Soho Square, a free public art programme and a full weekend of events, pop-up lectures, performance art, film screenings, workshops, live music and DJs inside the House.
The festival features a free public art programme between Soho Square and the historic Greek Street townhouse, as well as a weekend programme brimming with creativity and ideas. There will be installations and film screenings throughout the week, culminating in a colourful weekend of thought-provoking events, designed to inspire.
This year’s festival is curated around the theme of Maslow’s Pyramid of Needs, a theory that portrays human needs in a pyramid shape, with physiological needs at the bottom and self-expression through creativity at the top.
Each artist for Art Social ’15 has been asked respond to an element of the pyramid, collaborating in a vibrant, diverse and participatory week of creativity.
