Our great little bar on wheels on the Southbank
03 June 2015
You cannot beat the Southbank for a riverside, summer stroll in London. And if you are down there, watch out for our bright red, classic Citroen H Van (actually, it’s pretty hard to miss!)
It’s a 50’s French classic that’s had a full Benugo facelift and now stands proudly as an attraction in itself outside the BFI Southbank (feel free to take snaps).
Parked right next to the bridge, it’s a great looking bar-on-wheels and manages to pack a LOT into a relatively small space.
For the summer months, the van is serving pulled pulled pork burgers, bottled and canned beers, Pimm’s and slushies. You can grab a seat nearby and enjoy the colour and bustle of the Southbank – a great place for people-watching – or drop by for a bit of refreshment as you walk the river-bank.
And if you are in the mood for a bigger meal, check out the Riverfront bar and kitchen or Benugo bar and kitchen, both inside the BFI. It gets a bit lively in the evenings when both bars have DJs – so keep an eye on the listings.
If you want to catch a film at the world-famous BFI, you can check out the list of what’s on at the Southbank here.
Come winter-time, the van will go back to selling seasonal favourites like mulled wine, waffles, coffees and hot chocolates, the best way to keep warm while exploring the winter market along the water.
