One thing you will notice on visiting a benugo shop is the deli counter. An abundant array of top notch products so that you can make up your own sandwich that will be made up in front of your eyes. Alternatively, you can choose from one of the signature benugo Combinations, a toasted sandwich including the famous New Yorker, a rye and caraway rustic bread filled with British turkey, crispy bacon, Gruyere with Dijon mayo, lettuce and tomato.
COFFEE
We love great coffee. So much of what you get these days is often not hot enough or too bitter or too weak, or even worse, all three! That’s why we have a trained barista on all of our manually operated coffee machines (not one of those push button types seen elsewhere) who will have been graduated through our coffee training programme. It’s also why we have a unique benugo blend of fairly traded coffee where we know where the beans come from and how the extra money we pay goes towards improving local communities. And of course, we use organic milk, fresh from the Cotswolds.
BREAD
No sandwich would be perfect without the perfect bread, which is why we use London’s best baker to bake our range of benugo breads. These are delivered fresh to each of our shops everyday where they are baked off to ensure the freshest possible bread for your sandwich. And if it’s not used that day, it doesn’t get used at all.
TURKEY
As turkey is the key ingredient it’s vital that we use the best possible turkey. No turkey from Brazil or Eastern Europe, brought in frozen for us. We have Rod who hand rears his flocks of turkeys in Warwickshire and gently steam cooks them for us to a unique recipe to ensure that the turkey you get in your New Yorker reminds you not of post Boxing Day turkey blues!
YOGHURTS
Some yoghurts you can buy out there contain all sorts of nasties. At benugo we don’t believe in any nasties and that’s why our yoghurts come from a dairy in Herefordshire where the milk comes from Jersey cows from within a 7 miles radius of the dairy. Within 6 hours of the milk getting to the diary from the farm, it is turned into yoghurt and before long, it’s on its way to our shops.
