Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant

A celebration of food and wine alongside art and culture, the Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant provides the perfect setting for any occasion. Dine in our bright, airy restaurant or on our spectacular rooftop terrace, enjoying panoramic views of Oxford’s iconic spires.

Located at the top of the world’s oldest museum, the Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant features floor-to-ceiling glass windows that open onto a spacious terrace, ideal for alfresco drinks and dining when the weather permits. Afternoon tea is a highlight, often inspired by the museum’s exhibitions, making every visit a unique experience. After dining, take the opportunity to explore the Ashmolean Museum’s rich collections, from ancient Egyptian artefacts to contemporary art, each telling stories of culture and history.

Open daily, join us for lunch from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm and Afternoon Tea from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm (subject to availability). Discover our Spring 2025 Menu  Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available. Please inform us in advance of any dietary requirements to ensure your visit is as enjoyable as possible.

Set Menu – Spring is in the air, and there’s no better time to dine at the Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant. Join us to enjoy two courses for £27 or three for £31, with a complimentary glass of Prosecco or elderflower fizz.

Great Court Restaurant

Enjoy an unforgettable experience in our Great Court Restaurant under the iconic latticed glass roof of the British Museum’s Great Court. Look out for our special exhibition-themed menus. Afternoon tea is a museum must do – a splendid spread of sandwiches, cakes and scones and perfectly brewed teas.

T. rex Restaurant

Step back 66 million years in time and dine with the dinosaurs at the T. rex Restaurant. Located in the Green Zone of the Natural History Museum, this family friendly eatery is the perfect place to take your little ones for burgers, mini pizzas and ice cream sundaes.
