Ben founded Benugo in 1998, opening his first store in Clerkenwell. His vision was to create great natural food and give London something that was a real experience. This vision still remains true today.
Over the years, Ben with Benugo, has picked up numerous awards including Restaurateur of the Year (Tattler Restaurant Awards 2010), a London Lifestyle Award and a Catey in 2012 for his contribution to the food industry (the food equivalent to the Oscars!).
Turlough, one of the many Irish representatives at Benugo, has worked in Dublin and New York before settling at Benugo in 2009.
Frans is a graduate of Hotel School Den Haag in the Netherlands with a degree in Hospitality Management. After leaving the Netherlands for the US he went on to New York City to work full time with Restaurant Associates in 1999. Eight years after his move to the US Frans moved south to sunny Fort Lauderdale Florida and worked at Duffy's Sports Grill, a premier South Florida chain of restaurant in the US. Frans moved across the pond in 2012 to join the Benugo team – we're lucky to have him!
Jason is responsible for developing all of our businesses north of the border (of which there are a fair few!). The joke goes that every time he sneezes, he picks up a new contract somewhere in Scotland.
He moved to Edinburgh after a number of years running our operations at the V&A, Museum of Childhood and Museum of London. He now oversees our contracts for Historic Scotland and the National Museums Scotland.
Robert is another Benugo success story...growing through the business from general manager when he joined us December 2006 to Operations Manager for our full portfolio of In House businesses. He oversees the smooth running of all our in-house sites from GSK, Deloitte and Ernst and Young to Nomura, Deutsche Bank and PWC.
Having worked in Ernst & Young himself, he knows all about the internal workings of Benugo and so is a valuable resource for his team.
Peter is the creative soul behind all of the food you eat on the high street at Benugo. He ensures we’re always selling fresh, seasonal products by introducing inspiring new menus every 3 months, totally revitalising what’s on offer.
Joining us in 2011 with a background in product development for Marks and Spencer, he’s loving working alongside our kitchen teams to ensure our food is prepared correctly and delivered perfectly to our customer - down to the last dash of pepper and sprig of mint.
Born in Sete in the South of France, Olivier got the cooking bug from his mother and grandmother. He was trained classically for 3 years in Toulouse before jumping on a cruise liner, travelling and cooking anywhere from Geneva, Paris, Provence and the Alps.
Olivier came to England in the early 90s, spending some time at the Royal Academy of Arts before joining Benugo in 2004. He worked with us initially in the V&A and now is our resident Head Chef. He loves authentic, flavoursome food and that’s why we love him!
At Benugo, we want the highest standards for our people and our customers. Steven overlooks all of our Health and Safety for our food and locations. He is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner with a range of experience across public health and food safety but with particular focus on occupational health and safety.
Having ran marathons and also enjoying climbing, hill walking and skiing in his spare time, Steven has a strong love for the ‘healthy’ outdoors! We are an active bunch at Benugo and Steven is definitely a member that proves that.
