The British Museum has launched Bayeux Around Britain, a nationwide programme supported by WorldQuant that will bring the story of the Bayeux Tapestry to audiences and schoolchildren across the UK. Through partner organisations, digital resources and curriculum-linked learning activities, the programme aims to extend the reach of this historic exhibition far beyond the museum’s walls.

As part of the initiative, schools will have access to a range of digital learning resources, including a live broadcast for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils who are unable to visit the exhibition in person. Taking place on 14 October, the interactive broadcast will create the largest classroom in the country, giving students direct access to experts and the opportunity to participate in a live question-and-answer session.

To further widen access, every schoolchild visiting Bayeux Tapestry Presented by Igor Tulchinsky as part of an organised school trip will receive a free packed lunch, supported by Benugo. This initiative will help ensure that more young people can take part in this unique educational experience.

We are incredibly excited to be part of this programme and look forward to welcoming thousands of students to engage with this remarkable piece of history.
